We learn best when we have the freedom to make mistakes, to be involved, to enjoy being a part of a project without being helicoptered and directed, and when we’re treated like our efforts are changing the world. Children are no different. The simple task of baking cookies together has become such a fun learning experience for us both. He’s learning to count, pour, the feeling of different textures, how to hold a spoon properly, how to create food and the list goes on. I’m learning patience and the balance of how much to help. What are some of your favorite activities to do with your toddler? This past week being cooped up inside has given me a new appreciation for every little detail of him. Because of potty training. we’re being forced to be in each other’s sight pretty much every waking second and I kind of love it! I’m more aware of his fat little hands when he holds toys, the bounce of his hair when he runs, and how quickly he learns when we’re taking on a task like cooking. So to answer all the questions about how potty training is going, I would say, it’s been a sweet little dream. I love having a front row seat to new learning experiences for him and as we start venturing out more, I know I’ll miss the time we had, stuck to each other’s side, at home. • Check out our yummy cookie recipe is in my highlights and find the learning tower linked here http://liketk.it/2EmoR #liketkit @liketoknow.it
