When someone hurts us, it can help to look at the WHY behind their actions. What’s the motive behind the hurtful thing they did? Are they looking for attention? Are they trying to assert themselves because they don’t feel heard? Are they feeling scared and like their comfort is at stake? Are they feeling small and inadequate or unimportant? Are they feeling guilty and ashamed or judged? Look for the WHY. When we do this, it takes the sting away from the *unknown* of a hurtful action. The unknown can be maddening, but uncovering the ROOT🌱 and CONTEXT of the action can grant us perspective and even empathy 💫♥️🙏•
