I appreciate each and every one of you. Like I said, I’m totally fine - I can handle mean DMs, especially considering I am the one who is putting myself out there. But the truth is, it just makes me sad that so many people think it’s okay to unnecessarily attack someone they don’t know on social media. You don’t have to like everyone you come across on the internet… but you also don’t have to FOLLOW everyone you come across on the internet. It’s a choice. I hope that, above anything else, those stories make you think twice if you ever consider sending a mean or rude DM to someone in this app. Why are you sending it? What good will it do? What does it say about you that you are taking the time to belittle someone’s personal beliefs, where they live, or how they run their business? (Yes, all 3 of those have been covered in the past week 🤦🏻‍♀️) Will it really make you feel any better? I’m sure the influx of these are due to the fact that we are ALL on edge right now. We are living in an extremely uncertain and divisive time. I understand that. But unless what you have to say is constructive, take a deep breath before pressing send. Keep scrolling or unfollow and then do something POSITIVE with your day. Put that energy into your work. Call a friend. Hug your significant other. And for all of the Moms who have been the culprits of this (yes, this category is the majority), please think about the example you want to set for your children. Also before I let you go to drink the spiked cider in this mug… can we PLEASE stop shaming bloggers for making money or sharing their opinions? If you think a blogger is selfish and only cares about making money off of you - again, unfollow them! Otherwise, what is so wrong with an industry of mostly women receiving some compensation for the work they do, especially when it doesn’t cost you anything extra?
