Hot off the press from my desk that I haven’t left in 3 weeks 🤯⠀ ⠀ So #1 it’s really hard becoming a student after working bedside for 6 years k. Especially school that takes up 10-16 hours of your day. Daily. Until you graduate. 😂🥴⠀ ⠀ I wanted to share with you all some learning/motivational tips I think would be helpful to you as a student or as a nurse = lifelong learner ✨⠀ ⠀ 🧠 The more you tell your brain you’re going to fail, the higher the probability that you will. Your thoughts have so much influence on what you can accomplish. Some days I literally have to lie to myself when I feel like I’m not good enough, and give myself a fake pep talk just to make it through the day. Trick your brain. If you go into a test/shift feeling inadequate, that’s going to be reflected in your score/job performance. So don’t talk to yourself in a way you wouldn’t talk to somebody else. You’ll have better outcomes. ⠀ ⠀ 🧠 When you’re studying your notes, ask yourself do you get this? Or do you recognize it. Test yourself. Big difference. ⠀ ⠀ 🧠 Stop making excuses. Ok this is my entire ADHD self in a nutshell but. 🥜 An excuse is a promise to ourselves that we will have the same issue again.⠀ ⠀ 🧠 Become less discouraged by difficulty and be motivated by it. This applies to everyone whether you’re in school or not. There will always be setbacks, comparison, failures, bad days. Failure and criticism are the prerequisites for greatness. Read that again. ⠀ ⠀ Save this for when you need motivation, and I would love to hear what you guys do to keep motivated!
