This textured pot is one of my favorites! A couple of months ago a lovely client gave me these gorgeous orchids. Somehow I have managed to keep them alive. I read a trick is to place two ice cubes on top of its dirt once a week. So far, so good!

Also I have to give a big shout out to Stacy @stacyssavings and her awesome tutorial! Her pantry was a huge inspiration for us. We made a few tweaks. We didn’t use anything IKEA and we added a garbage can drawer at the bottom of the tall cabinet and a spot for cookie sheets at the top.

Being, what I call, a warm minimalist, I wanted this space to inviting, warm, to have great texture and character and to also have an element of surprise and fun!

These hanging rods are fun because you can change them up from season to season, or just depending on your mood.

I have a mix of functional items as well as items that I just love.
When arranging the rods or our open shelves, I try and use a mix of materials, textures and color. I also like to put the items that we use, closer to the area they're used in. And then mix in the fun!
I also like to arrange them so pieces of the same color and height aren't bunched up together.
Rule of thumb: function first, and then mix in the fun...staggering different heights, materials and color.
