I am just getting over being sick with what everyone else seems to have these days… so I thought I’d share some of the supplements I used in my protocol to support my immune system! 💊 I usually like to order high quality supplements from a professional dispensary like FullScript, but I did a quick check and you can actually buy some of these once professional-only brands on Walmart.com now via the marketplace! 😆 Walmart has been stepping up their supplement game for a few years, and we even have our own version of NAC now! I had just placed a professional order and forgot to restock my NAC, so I actually did pick up a bottle of our Spring Valley brand to test it out… and yeah, it definitely has the sulfur smell of NAC! 🥴
This photo though is of my favorite / most underrated supplement for occasional use: Vitamin A. I remember being scared of Vitamin A in pharmacy school because overdosing can cause liver problems and other issues. But in the right dose, it’s so critical for everything from thyroid function to fertility to skin integrity to eye health to immune resiliency.
With any vitamin, it’s ideal to get it from food. But some people some don’t convert beta carotene in plants to the active form very well. I’m one of them. I noticed my night vision was terrible and I had keratosis pillaris. You can get the active form from things like liver, fish, eggs, and dairy. But even I struggle with those sometimes!
That’s why I especially love these drops. As soon as I feel a tickle in my throat, I’ll take up to 5 drops and swish them around my mouth and throat.
Supplements seem to be getting a bad rep over on tiktok right now, but it’s all about tailoring a regimen to your unique needs.
What do you think? Do you take supplements?! Do you have a favorite? 💊🥰
