Of all the designer shoes I’ve ever bought (and trust me it hurts me to admit this) Golden Goose Ball star sneakers have been my best investment so far.
1. They truly are ridiculously comfortable. The toe box is nice and roomy and the insoles are so soft it’s like walking on clouds.
2. The fact that they’re distressed helps me not to worry about them. Will that leave a mark? Omg the dog just stepped on my toes what am I going to do? Nothing can hurt them 😂 It just makes them stronger (cuter).
3. They are treated with some sort of shoe deo so you can wear them sans socks in the middle of summer and they will still do alright.
4. Let’s talk about the money: their resale value is great! My friend just sold her old pair on eBay for $400! (Mind you, she bought them about 4 years ago so she basically she got her money back). Just make sure to buy them from an authorized retailer!
5. I love that you can just slip in and out of them hands free.
6. I get tons of compliments every time I’m wearing them and that’s even when I am walking the dogs (I always have to compete with them for their cuteness).

Shopping for deals during Memorial Day sale may be overwhelming: there’re so many offers! I would stick to essentials, basics and high quality items that don’t often go on sale. Here’s a list of items I found on sale that are timeless, high quality and will take you through the whole summer and beyond:
1. Madewell utility jacket (and take a good look at Madewell sale, there’re a lot of great basics that you could use)
2. A perfectly oversized button down shirt (cotton and linen). I love the ones by Gant, they’re so well tailored and the fabric is soft and durable.

I’m still swooning over every single Miu Miu runway look as well as their summer campaign but these boat shoes were simply not meant to be. What I’m shopping for during Memorial Day sale: home decor and furniture. 🪑
1. I am looking for a modern looking leather couch like Ligne Roset Togo or Bellini, found the first one at a decent price pre loved, and the second one is on sale right now (but it’s a replica).
2. I think I will be buying more Cassina style chairs. They are perfect for any space and I need at least 2 more.
3. I need a new area rug for the dining area. Since I have dogs I am thinking something distressed or machine washable and inexpensive. Wayfair has a ton of stylish and affordable rugs that just went on sale too.
5. A flat surface grill: Blackstone or Pitt boss.
6. A gas fire pit: I found a few modern looking concrete fire pits at All Modern with great reviews, all on sale.
7. A dining table. This is the toughest because it’s hard to take in all the factors: the right size, shape, price, color and materials (I really want to buy a high quality dining table made of solid wood instead of manufactured wood or veneer). I found a pricey but definitely high quality modern looking minimalistic dining table at Design Within reach: it’s on sale and white glove delivery is included!
8. A designer table lamp: 🪔 I love the one by Audo Copenhagen (formerly known as Menu).

Ahhhh the Miu Miu boat shoes, I wanted to love you so much but it wasn’t meant to be 😩 not only these are extremely difficult to come by (literally impossible to find in brown and suede, but I managed to find them in distressed white at Neiman Marcus) + they are quite expensive and…. Most importantly, once I got them in the mail - a little disappointing.
They are soft and probably will be very durable, most certainly very stylish and look great on your foot BUT because they’re handmade I found quite a few oddities: uneven stitching and marks of blue ball pen where the shoe leather meets the sole. Long story short I sent these back and ordered a pair of Sperrys and I honestly think they look and feel just as great for 1/10th of the price. If you must have the high end boat shoes I also found these GORGEOUS Bally shoes on Farfetch in deep brown suede and chocolate brown leather that look simply fabulous and are available in all sizes!

Since the moment Miu Miu showed their new collection this spring I was searching for a pair of boat shoes that won’t break the bank and I think I found them: these Top-Sider Boat Shoes by Sperry are true to size, light, comfortable straight out of the box and also don’t make your foot look too round (this was my problem with Sebagos for example). Perfect for preppy looks and daily outfits, they can also be dressed up for casual summer date nights! I also just found them on sale on Amazon for under $100 depending on the size.
